Breaking it Down by Department

Like many companies, City is broken down into different departments. Here is a little insight on each one.

Service Department

City’s largest department is the service department. Each service individual is responsible for providing products and services to our clients while building and maintaining a strong relationship with each client to ensure quality service.  City currently has 16 routes and covers 28 counties across Northeastern Iowa, from Des Moines to the corner of Wisconsin.

Maintenance Department

The maintenance department is the backbone of all our departments. They make sure everything runs smoothly and making any repairs from a broken light fixture to a broken down truck. Together the 4 City maintenance employees have a combined total of 70 years of service, so there is nothing they can’t handle.

Embroidery Department

With City, you can choose from numerous image options – polo shirts, hats, blazers, blankets and more and it can begin and end with one phone call. City offers custom embroidery, emblems, and screen printing.

Production

The production team is responsible for the processing of soiled and clean laundry for all of our clients. This department processes all items in an efficient manner meeting production and quality standards. The process for each item may include folding, hanging, inspecting, sorting and assembling for each route.

Stockroom

City has fully stocked inventory for potential new customers or new uniform wearers. The stockroom department takes care of routing new garments to the appropriate stock line and properly documenting the quality of each garment. As well as adding garments, City also offers a storage service for clients who are on a work leave and will get their uniforms back into service when the client is back to work.

Office Personnel

The office personnel take care of all human resources tasks, accounts payable, accounts receivable, installing and maintaining accounts. They redirect all external communication to the necessary City representative for the best possible customer service.

Sales Department

Each sales representative is responsible for generating new business throughout Iowa. Our sales team is not afraid to make regular phone calls, visit with potential prospects, and build the necessary relationships to relay the benefits of working with City.
