CITY Laundering Co has named Colin Wetlaufer as the new President. As President, Wetlaufer is responsible for all of the CITY operations, which covers areas throughout Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

Wetlaufer, 32, is an 11-year CITY veteran and the fifth Wetlaufer to run the company.

“Each of CITY’s presidents have advanced the company in different ways. I believe Colin will provide guidance to help our company grow and remain profitable, as well as develop our executive team,” Former President and Father Roger Wetlaufer said. “CITY is very fortunate to have his leadership.”

Since 2012, Wetlaufer served as the Vice President and General Manager, and he supervised departments such as operations, sales, and service. Under his leadership, he expanded CITY’s Des Moines market, was recognized as a Titan of Textile from the Independent Laundering CSC Network, and altogether helped the company hit record growth.

Wetlaufer also played an instrumental role as the Service Manager, Production Manager, and was directly involved in the sale of many top accounts including CITY’s largest account in history with Iowa Premium.

“He has demonstrated capabilities and leadership qualities and has been recognized by his peers in this area,” Roger Wetlaufer said. “He has brought a strong work ethic as well as a defined vision, which will serve the company well.”

Concurrent to Wetlaufer’s appointment, Roger Wetlaufer now serves as CITY’s Chairman
of the Board after a distinguished 25-year career as CITY’s President. Roger Wetlaufer will have oversight responsibilities as well as input into planning processes but overall, Colin will be running the company.

“As a company, we have worked hard to establish a strategic vision for our future,” Wetlaufer said. “I am excited and honored to lead this team because working with the people at CITY makes it all worth it.”
