Recognizing Vicky Schold’s Retirement After a 40-Year-Long Laundry Journey
After 40 incredible years in the laundry industry, we’re celebrating Vicky Schold’s retirement. Vicky has been a pillar of our team, dedicating her entire career to the same building where she started in the 80s. She first joined Holzberg’s Laundry looking for a job that could turn into a long-term career. “I was looking for a job where I could make a career out of it,” she recalls. And that’s exactly what she did.
When Holzberg’s became Lake Superior Laundry in 1989, Vicky embraced new challenges and took on various roles, including customer service, human resources, and payroll. Over the years, she worked her way up into management, guided by her philosophy, “If you don’t do it right, you don’t do it at all.” In 2022, CITY acquired Lake Superior Laundry, and Vicky was once again there to help transition the team, bringing her wealth of experience and strong work ethic.
Throughout her career, everyone around her has felt Vicky’s presence. Colin, CITY’s President, shared, “Working with Vicky has been a pleasure. Her dedication and experience have been vital to our operations.” Vicky’s coworkers know her for her kindness and leadership; her legacy will continue to inspire us.
Earlier this year, we celebrated Vicky’s 40th anniversary—a milestone that reflects her journey and many memorable moments. Reflecting on her time here, Vicky said, “It’s a fun job because something is always different.”
As Vicky steps into retirement this month, we want to thank her for her incredible dedication and wish her all the best. Her hard work and resilience legacy will always be a part of CITY.
