CITY 2024: A Year in Review

As we reflect on 2024, CITY continues to thrive thanks to the hard work, dedication, and ongoing partnerships with our valued customers.

This year has been full of milestones that demonstrate our commitment to safety, service excellence, innovation, and growth. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights:

Celebrating 118 Years of Excellence

This year, CITY celebrated 118 years in business, a testament to the strength of our legacy and our unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. We’ve grown and evolved, but our core values of responsiveness, quality, and personalized service remain as strong as ever.

Expanding Our Healthcare Division

The healthcare sector saw significant growth for CITY in 2024. We successfully launched a new website for CITY Healthcare, making it easier for our healthcare clients to access the products and services they need. We also celebrated landing our biggest contract in CITY’s history, further solidifying our leadership in the industry.

Advancing People Operations and Company Culture

At CITY, people are at the heart of everything we do. In 2024, we made a significant shift in our HR department, transitioning to People Operations. This move is focused on improving the employee experience, increasing retention, and driving enhanced productivity across all divisions. We aim to foster a stronger culture by aligning people initiatives directly with our business goals. This year, we also welcomed Josh Meike as our new HR Business Partner to help lead this transformation.

Additionally, 2024 marked a bittersweet farewell to two incredible employees. Marie Suhr, with 25 years of service, retired from our industrial division, and Vicky Schold, who celebrated 40 years with us, retired from the healthcare division. Both were instrumental in shaping the culture and operations of their respective teams. Their contributions will be deeply missed, but their legacies will continue to inspire our work and culture for years to come.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

CITY’s commitment to sustainability and innovation is evident in our focus on water conservation and energy efficiency. In 2024, we continued to operate with our groundbreaking UltraPure filtration system that recycles 70% of the water used in our industrial operations, saving around 665,000 gallons of water each month. Additionally, we maintained our position as leaders in energy efficiency with the largest solar panel operation for a privately owned company in Iowa, offsetting more than 14 million pounds of CO2.

Our commitment to sustainability extends beyond environmental efforts, with new equipment installed and product upgrades that support our ever-growing list of industrial customers.
