Kyle Ledger  |  Business Risk Advisor

Kyle Ledger

Background and Work History 

Kyle studied finance at the University of Iowa, then lived in Chicago for about seven years. He started in commercial real estate, then was drawn to the trading pits at the Chicago Board of Trade. Kyle worked in the treasury bond futures market for around ten years before moving into the risk management and insurance world.

Kyle resides in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. He and his wife Robyn have three daughters named Elsie, Alaina, and Nora.

Partnership Between CITY and DISCOVERisk 

Kyle and Colin Wetlaufer think a lot alike and they knew it made sense to expand the CITY/DISCOVERisk partnership. Both teams take great pride in going above and beyond for clients and together they offer something unique in the marketplace. “CITY has a lot of trusted, long term relationships,” Kyle said. “We approach things the same way. We think generosity leads to the best results.”

Favorite Part of His Job 

Kyle spends most of his time with the DISCOVERisk platform. He enjoys helping clients become safer and more profitable through risk management. Kyle describes DISCOVERisk as “a purple cow in a world of brown cows,” (a Seth Godin reference). Kyle also appreciates meeting and aligning with great people.

On The Weekends 

Kyle enjoys spending time with family and attending his daughters’ activities. His daughters are involved in gymnastics, taekwondo, dance, basketball, golf, and music. In Kyle’s spare time, he likes to go golfing or fishing with friends.

Fun Fact

Kyle attended one of the most talked-about games in Major League Baseball history. The “Steve Bartman incident” occurred at a Chicago Cubs playoff game where a lifelong Cubs fan interfered with a foul ball. The Cubs went on to lose the game and failed to reach the World Series that year. Kyle was in the left field stands at the game.


Lisa Hingst  |  Risk Improvement Strategist

Lisa Hingst

Background and Work History 

Lisa and her husband Jason live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Their daughter Grace attends Creighton University. Lisa graduated from Mount Mercy College, then joined a manufacturing company that was founded by her father, Dick Rozek. During her 27 years at the business, Lisa was responsible for creating and managing the safety program. This was a significant project, as the company grew to eight U.S. locations and around 900 employees.

Why Accel? 

Lisa has always been passionate about safety. With her previous safety programs reaching a point of maturity, Lisa was open to a new challenge.  Accel presented an opportunity for her to share her expertise with a variety of companies and industries. Lisa was also drawn to the DISCOVERisk platform. She came from a family business with strong principles, a proactive mindset, and a focus on generously taking care of people. This matches perfectly with DISCOVERisk. 

A Great Company Culture 

“I like the people; our people are great and easy to work with,” Lisa said. Accel’s core values include smiling and laughing each day. The company encourages this to keep perspective on life and to make it a great place to work.

Favorite Part of Her Job 

Lisa enjoys helping clients develop a culture of safety.  She believes that a company’s biggest asset is their people, so it is a top priority to keep people safe.  Lisa also enjoys being a resource for questions and concerns from clients.  She values the many trusted relationships that have developed through her work.

Outside of Work 

Lisa and her family enjoy traveling and staying active. They take an annual trip to a lake in Minnesota and recently visited friends in Ireland.  Lisa has been an Iowa Hawkeye football season ticket holder for years and she is a regular at her daughter’s club soccer games.

Fun Fact 

Mickey Mantle hit his first home run at Yankee Stadium on May 16, 1951. Lisa’s dad was the pitcher.


Kassie Docker  |  Senior Account Manager

KassieDocker

Background 

Kassie grew up in a small town north of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and currently lives in nearby Marion. She attended Mount Mercy University and has a strong customer service background. Kassie and her husband have two children, a son Colin and a daughter Emersyn.

Role at Accel

Kassie is a senior account manager at Accel. She handles a wide range of internal and external requests and coordinates information between clients and insurance companies. Kassie also manages the DISCOVERisk audit process. 

Why Accel? 

Accel is a locally owned company with a culture that feels like family. The size of the company allows flexibility, while offering clients the best resources in the industry. Kassie also appreciates that Accel provides opportunities to serve the community. Kassie has been involved in many generous causes, including serving as President of the Accel Foundation.

Favorite Part of Her Job 

When asked about her favorite part of the job, Kassie said “problem-solving.” When someone comes to her with a challenging issue, she enjoys figuring out the best solution. Kassie also enjoys getting to know clients and building strong relationships.

Outside of Work  

Kassie enjoys spending time with her family and being involved with her kids’ sports and activities. In her spare time, Kassie likes to stay active and healthy.  She is a fitness instructor at Farrell’s gym and she enjoys experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes.

Fun Fact 

A fun fact about Kassie is that she met her husband on Myspace.


Andrea Rogers  |  Director of Claims and Risk Solution

Andrea Rogers

Background

Andrea is married and has two children, a son Kieran and a daughter Penelope. Prior to Accel, Andrea was director of professional services at a law firm. Her responsibilities included insurance defense matters, strategic planning, as well as educating and training internal and external teams.

Andrea enjoys volunteering and she is passionate about helping children. She is a court appointed special advocate & board member with Friends of Iowa CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) and ICFCRB (Iowa Citizen Foster Care Review Board). She is also a board member with Linn County Early Childhood Iowa.

Why Accel? 

“I really like the culture here,” Andrea said. Accel is flexible, family friendly, and continues to grow. She also likes that the company encourages volunteerism. In 2019, Accel was the recipient of the Rough Notes Company Community Service Award. Rough Notes is a national insurance publication.

Her Job at Accel 

Andrea oversees the loss control team and specializes in complex insurance claims. When it comes to claims, she advocates on behalf of clients, so claims get resolved properly.  Andrea also manages several educational and training aspects of the company, including an annual seminar series for clients.

Outside of Work

“When I have free time, I enjoy traveling and running,” Andrea said. She and her husband have travelled to 28 countries, most recently to New Zealand. On weekends, she enjoys time with family and frequently goes running with friends.

Fun Fact 

Andrea has been to six of the seven continents. She wants to visit Antarctica to complete the list.
