Our facility works hard to find sustainable solutions to lower our carbon footprint and increase our energy independence.
CITY has the largest roof mount for any privately-held Iowa Company. With 850 solar panels installed across our roof, we will replace 1/3 of our annual electric usage. Over the course of a 25-year lifecycle, the system is estimated to offset over 14 million pounds of CO2. This is equivalent to removing 1,395 cars off the road.
Our Norchem UltraPure water filtration system allows us to recycle over 70 percent of our water and to reuse 25 percent of our detergent. The system saves 665,000 gallons of water each month.
CITY’s corporate headquarters has completed an LED light conversion which saves over 45,000 kilowatt-hours and reduces 57,991 pounds of CO2 annually.
CITY has earned the TRSA Clean Green Certification.
TRSA Clean Green Certification recognizes companies that demonstrate responsible leadership in sustainability and conservation to protect the environment. The program acknowledges a textile service company’s continuing commitment to improving efficiencies in water and energy conservation and adoption of best management practices for reusing, reclaiming and recycling resources.
