What is a uniform company?

For over 100 years we have cleaned the garments of businesses all across the Midwest. Our concept is clean and simple, we pick-up dirty and bring you clean. We are a business-to-business provider and provide you with fresh, clean, safe uniforms for employees to wear at work. From food processing to industrial manufacturing, as a uniform company we clean, assemble and maintain the clothes for thousands of employees.

  • If you are looking to improve your company images, uniforms bring a sense of unity and trust.
  • If you are looking to increase or meet safety standards, we provide uniforms that are flame resistant, high visibility, or enhanced visibility.
  • If you are looking for uniforms that are hygienically clean and remove take own toxins from your home, we are the only provider in the region to have a third-party hygienically clean certification.

How much does a uniform service cost?

Cost varies depending on what services CITY provides to you. It’s also greatly depending on what business we are providing our services to. A food processing facility with 500 employees is going to vary in cost to a 10-person automotive repair shop. We charge a flat rate meaning the price for a certain quantity of items is the same every week. The only way the rate changes is if the customer changes the inventory and how much merchandise gets delivered.

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a rate because expenses go up including gas for our trucks, the actual merchandise or utility costs at our facility. We do ensure that the rate increase does not exceed 7% annually.

In any case, CITY has developed its billing system unique to the laundry industry. CAM or CITY Asset Management Program creates accountability and transparency in the billing process, so you never get overcharged or are confused about your invoices. The CAM program covers unintentional damage to uniforms creating a financial advantage for our clients. CAM is designed so you can properly budget and predict each and every invoice.

Can you buy uniforms from CITY?

Yes, we do offer uniforms for sale. You can call CITY and ask for the specific style and material and we will provide you with a quote if it is an item that our current vendors carry and have in stock. If you already are a CITY customer, you can contact your Route Service Representative and they will make sure we get an order placed and that you receive the requested items. You DO NOT have to be a customer to order uniforms from CITY.

What Makes CITY Different from Other Uniform Companies?

For over a century, we have made sure our customers can take advantage of accountable, reliable and responsive service. As a family-owned and operated company established in 1906, we pride ourselves on being locally owned and operated and still believe in the same values our company was founded on. Comparing ourselves to most of our competitors, being family-owned is the difference. When it comes down to it, it’s the people, the response time, the communication and providing you with a face when it comes to dealing with potential problems that differentiate CITY.

In today’s world, we understand one of the most important things of doing business with companies today is being transparent and readily available to take a phone call or meet with the customer face-to-face. There is a reason we have our direct contact information on our website, send service reports, and onboarding packets introducing your service team and how to get a hold of us.

What is CAM?

CAM is CITY’s Asset Management Program. At CITY, transparency is the most important thing when it comes to making you aware of how our service will help you and your business be more successful. CAM ensures you always know what your next invoice will look like and what each charge entails. We empower our route service team to handle all invoice concerns directly with the customer and our route service representatives can thoroughly answer each charge on an invoice.

Through pricing programs like CAM, we are able to eliminate unpredictable fees that our competition charges an employer regularly for.

Based on our client’s operational needs, the number of items they have in service, and their business operations, CITY’s staff will calculate and fully customize a billing solution that addresses inconsistent weekly invoicing and takes care of irregularities like missing or damaged garments. The key for CAM is to keep the customer’s bill as simple as possible, but also not oversimplifying it. We believe in giving the customer the ability to look at the bill, and at first, glance, be able to identify the most important changes. It’s all about understanding what a customer is paying for, what’s included in the service and how CITY is providing the service.

Why should I have a uniform program?

As uniform experts, we can provide you with a number of reasons why we believe your employees should wear uniforms. To find our Top-10 list click here, in the meantime here are the most important factors for us.

It’s not just having everyone in the same clothes, but promoting identity, and at the end of the day improving your bottom line by transferring the confidence your employees have in their company from their uniforms to the customer. It’s all about being professional, and by providing you with uniforms that are laundered to the highest standard and look great, your employees will project a knowledgeable and professional look to the customer.

Your employees instantly have the ability to save money. Having to purchase work clothes is a major expense for many people, and by letting CITY take care of your uniforms with the rest of your coworkers, there is a cost-saving to cleaning all of the items at once.

Everything is cleaned to Hygienically Clean standards providing you, your employees and your customers with the peace of mind of having clean garments. Safety and cleanliness are our top priority and by letting us take care of your laundry, you can worry about the most important thing, your business.

Are you a Hygienically Clean Industrial Laundry?

Since 2017, CITY remains the only industrial laundry in the region to have TRSA’s Hygienically Clean Certification. The Hygienically Clean certification recognizes linen, uniform and facility services companies’ commitment to cleanliness through laundry plant inspection and third-party, quantified biological testing.

To attain the Hygienically Clean certification, the laundry must submit to a facility inspection and laundered products must pass three rounds of outcome-based microbial testing, indicating that their processes are producing Hygienically Clean Healthcare textiles.

A distinct, physical line at the facility differentiates the clean from the soil making sure cross-contamination can’t happen. CITY also has two designated team captains on the soil side and the clean side that help maintains production on each individual side of the facility.

Why do I need to sign a rental services agreement?

Think of renting uniforms or any of our products (mats, mops, linen service) like renting a car. You won’t be able to drive off in it without first signing a contract guaranteeing the terms of your rental. The same goes for CITY. We want to give you the best service possible and a contract helps both parties. By signing a uniform rental service agreement, you won’t have a large upfront cost investment for your employees and it allows us to properly upgrade, mend, and adjust to your service requirements as needed.

We want to be transparent and reliable. A contract establishes parameters that keep you and us safe and satisfied by guaranteeing the level of service requires as detailed in the rental services agreement.
